Heartland Canines have been providing highly trained service dogs to qualified Veterans for ten years. Not everyone needs a SERVICE dog, but we believe everyone needs a dog. With that, comes a lot of responsibility. Every dog should:
- Be polite
- Listen to commands
- Sit/Lay
- Heel
All of our training for your dog (and YOU) is possible through Hk9:
- Multiple Training options
- All costs (donations) go directly to the training of future service dogs for our Veterans.
- Flexibility. You come to us, or we come to you.
- Become part of our family. We do have options available for you and your K9 to become members of our Therapy Dog Program
HK9 owes it to our Veterans and donors that the K9s we receive for the program are trainable, documented, and healthy. The current cost to train and place a K9 in our program is $18,000. We must do everything we can to ensure the K9s in our program are the most likely to be successful in such an important role that is designated to improve the quality of life for our Veterans for as long as possible. None of that is possible without proper fundraising. Your dog gets trained, that cost goes to our program.
