The Heartland Kids’ Coloring & Activity Book is more than a fun activity book — it’s a mission-driven project designed to teach children about service dogs, honor the Veterans who rely on them, and support Heartland Canines for Veterans in training life-saving dogs for those who served.
Every page features real Heartland service dogs, Veteran stories, and interactive activities that help kids understand courage, empathy, and what it truly means to “Never Walk Alone.”
The book is distributed at schools, libraries, veteran events, and community programs, giving families a positive and meaningful introduction to service dogs and the work they do.
Why This Campaign Matters
Veterans across our nation depend on highly trained service dogs to navigate PTSD, anxiety, mobility challenges, night terrors, and daily life. Each dog takes months of training and thousands of dollars to prepare — and Heartland provides them at no cost to the Veteran.
This coloring book helps make that possible and helps to educate the public.

"One of Us" Campaign

The "One of Us" Campaign was designed to create more than an opportunity for organizations to give and Veterans to receive. We believe in life-long bonds and partnerships. This campaign gives organizations an opportunity to invest in the success of a specific Veteran and their K-9 partner, now, and for years to come.

What can you expect from participating in this campaign?

  • Your business, company, or organization chooses the name of the K-9. Want to name the dog after your organization? Awesome, the choice is yours! Have an internal race based on funds raised to "win" the naming of the K-9, draw it out of a hat... unfortunately, the Veterans come pre-named.
  • Your campaign covers all training for the K-9 and Veteran Team, routine veterinarian care, all the gear, equipment, kenneling and administrative costs for the K-9 Team
  • We do press releases on the partnership you create with us for the team, an amazing gift deserves amazing recognition!
  • You become part of the team's process. Training updates, videos, pictures, all of it.
  • And of course, graduation from our program! At your facility or ours, expect media coverage and another press release.
  • The Campaign doesn't end there. Visits, Christmas and birthday cards, it's all possible!

"Paws" for Giving

"Paws" for Giving is designed to allow companies, businesses and individuals to provide wall space, counter space or window space for HK9 to put up our specially designed logo with a QR code to give employees or patrons an opportunity to donate to HK9.

  • Put it on your checkout counter, front display windows, break room wall, car window, anywhere you believe people will see it and help HK9 provide service dogs COST FREE to our Veterans.
  • The stickers we have on order are 4"x4" and will be available by 2023!
  • They will be no cost to your business, but gifts are ALWAYS accepted.

Dog House Donation Box

Our Dog House Donation Box Campaign is for companies and businesses to provide counter space for HK9's Donation Box for cash donations.

  • Put it on your checkout counter or anywhere you believe people will see it and help HK9 provide service dogs COST FREE to our Veterans.
  • The boxes are small and provide information to let people know where their gifts are going.
  • They will be no cost to your business, but gifts are ALWAYS accepted.

The Heartland Ambassador Campaign

Give your employees and patrons an opportunity to see a service dog in action!

Would you like to have us come to you? That is the idea with our Ambassador Campaign. Heartland would love the chance to come to your venue.

This campaign is perfect for organizations that would like to:
